1 - Short Title and Enactment
(1) This Act may be cited as the ‘Immigration Easement Act’.
(2) This Act shall be numbered as P.B.00-026.
(3) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.
(4) This Act has been authored by Deputy Prime Minister TheReal42Person.
(5) This Act has been co-sponsored by Minister Dr_Eksplosive.
2 - Reasons
(1) The citizenship and residency exams are yet to be set up.
(2) Tourists effectively can’t do anything, so the residency exam needs to be clarified.
(3) In order to prevent anti-immigration policies, the Citizenship Exam will be limited.
(4) To give the right to vote to residents.
(5) Responding to public feedback to the law.
3 - Section 4 of the Immigration and Citizenship Act shall be amended as follows:
‘(3) Tourists are barred from voting in elections, becoming employed, opening bank accounts, opening a business, owning property, and receiving grants in the Kingdom of Alexandria.
(a) Violation of this clause may result in being detained and/or fines.
(4) Tourists are not exempt from laws and may be arrested and/or tried for crimes committed.
(a) Tourists have the same rights as citizens, apart from the right to vote in elections and referendums.
(5) Tourists may take the Residency Exam, outlined in Section 5 of this act, immediately upon joining.’
4 - Section 5 of the Immigration and Citizenship Act shall be amended as follows:
(1) Residents are players who express interest in becoming citizens of Alexandria. Players may do this through an exam, called the ‘Residency Exam’, administered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
(a) This exam shall have two questions with answer options being ‘Yes’ or ‘No’:
‘1. Are you interested in becoming a citizen of the Kingdom of Alexandria?’
‘2. Will you obey all laws and acknowledge certain rights and abilities may be restricted until full citizenship is granted?’
(b) Players must receive a score of 100% in order to be granted Residency.(i) There shall be no time limit as to when a player may retake this exam.
(c) Upon passing this exam, the player shall receive the 'Resident’ role and have their ‘Tourist’ role removed.
(d) This exam must be at spawn for ease of access to Tourists.’
5 - Section 6 of the Immigration and Citizenship Act shall be amended as follows:
‘(1) After remaining as a Resident for one week, a player may opt to take the ‘Citizenship Exam’.
(a) This exam shall consist of no more than 10 questions relating to Alexandrian civics, law, history, and server rules, as determined by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
(i) At least two questions must be relating to server rules.
(b) A score of 80% or higher is required in order to pass.
(i) There shall be no time limit as to when a player may retake this exam.
(2) Citizens are granted the ‘Citizen’ role in-game and have full rights and abilities within the Kingdom of Alexandria.’
6 - Section 8 of the Immigration and Citizenship Act shall be amended as follows:
‘(1) If a citizen decides requests to emigrate to another country, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs may rescind their citizenship rights and the player shall be reverted to Tourist status.
(2) Emigrants may not regain Residency for a period of two one months.
(a) The Ministry of Foreign Affairs may grant exceptions to this for extenuating circumstances at its discretion.’
7 - Section 10 of the Immigration and Citizenship Act shall be amended as follows:
(1) Any player who joins/joined before this law is enacted the relevant exams are set up shall be granted automatic citizenship.
