Pay People

1 - Short Title and Enactment
(1) This Act may be cited as the ‘Pay Scale Act’.
(2) This Act shall be numbered as P.B.00-020.
(3) This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.
(4) This Act has been authored by Deputy Prime Minister TheReal42Person.
(5) This Act has been co-sponsored by Minister winterwolf.

2 - Reasons
(1) Our government has a reasonable amount of money in its balance now.
(2) Taxation will begin within a few weeks.
(3) Our government officials are currently not able to be paid.
(4) The citizens deserve a Universal Basic Income.
(5) Note: This act is slightly based on Redmont’s Economic Standards Act.

3 - Government Wages
(1) A ‘salary’ shall be defined as a person’s pay for every 15 minutes of in-game activity.

(2) ‘Commission’ shall be defined as being paid per task or on a set basis (e.g. weekly, monthly, etc.).

(3) Legislative and Judicial salaries cannot be withheld.

(4) Changes to Member of Parliament, Minister, or Speaker salaries will take effect following the next general election.

(5) A Judicial Officer’s remuneration cannot be decreased without the unanimous consent of the Chancery.

(6) Salaries do not stack. For example, if a player is in two positions where one earns Level 3 and the other earns Level 2, they will not earn both.
(a) Players will only earn the highest salary level they have.

4 - Pay Levels
(1) Level 0: Commission | For certain government employees.

(2) Level 1: £20 per 15 minutes | For the highest position in each branch.

(3) Level 2: £15 per 15 minutes | For significant government officials.

(4) Level 3: £10 per 15 minutes | For high level government officials.

(5) Level 4: £5 per 15 minutes | For certain government employees.

(6) Level 5: £2.5 per 15 minutes | Universal Basic Income.

(a) Speaker of Parliament;
(b) Prime Minister;
(c) High Chancellor.

(c) Leader of the Opposition;
(d) Chancellor.

(3) Level 3 shall include the following positions:

(b) Magistrate;
(c) Ambassador;
(d) Chief of Staff.

(4) Level 4 shall include the following positions:
(a) Clerk;
(b) Parliamentarian;
(c) Press Advisor;
(d) Political Advisor.

(5) Level 5 shall include the following positions:
(a) Citizen;
(b) Resident.

6 - Government Employees
(1) The employees of any government Ministry may be assigned a salary level through an official policy approved by the Prime Minister.
(a) This policy must only use the following salary levels:
(i) Level 0;
(ii) Level 3;
(iii) Level 4.

7 - Additional Commission Pay
(1) If a position has a salary level, it may also be paid in commission for specific tasks done (e.g. Judicial Officers presiding over a court case).
